Gary & Kathy Sims
Gary and Kathy Sims have been with Free Life Church from the beginning. Both were raised in Assembly of God, Spirit-filled Christian homes and knew they would live their lives for God. Gary was raised in Littleton, CO and at the age of twelve, Kathy's parents moved their family to Stratton, CO to attend the church in Burlington that William Behrman started not too long before.
Gary and Kathy met through a mutual friend in Aurora, CO and a year later they were married!
They have two children and seven grandchildren. One of their sons lives in Colby, KS and attends Free Life Church there with his wife and three daughters. Their daughter has four sons and they live in Xenia, OH.
The Sims family has always been involved in serving in the churches they have attended. Gary served as an usher, board member, and in cleaning. Kathy has taught children's church for over forty years and was a youth leader for around ten years. They attended Pastors Eric and Kirsten's church back in Kit Carson and faithfully have been with them ever since.
After seeking God to attend Rhema Bible Training College they knew God had something for them right here in Burlington and they both have Graduated from ICIBC in 2017. Gary is retired from Stratton Equity Coop after thirty-seven years and Kathy is currently a bookkeeper. In their free time, Gary enjoys family time, reading, hunting, fishing, basically anything outdoors, and building/carpentry projects. Kathy enjoys spending time with family, baking, travel, hiking, yard work, gardening, and of course, shopping!
COLE & EMILIE KILBORN
Cole, from Burlington, CO and Emilie from Akron, Co met in high school running track. While Cole finished his last year in high school, Emilie went on to complete her associates degree and gain her Cosmetology license. Soon after they went out to Tulsa, OK to attend Rhema Bible Training College, tying the knot in between their first and second years there. From there they graduated and soon after received their ministry licenses to come and help their family at Free Life Church.
During their years at Rhema, they understood that God had called them both to the mission field but in continuing to pray they came to know what God had for them directly after graduation. So, they soon moved to Colby, Kansas and serve under Pastor Eric and Kirsten Kilborn as their Colby campus pastors. They reside there doing the work God has for them until He calls them elsewhere.
Cole and Emilie teach ICIBC classes as Cole works and continues his education at a community college. Emilie is a hairstylist and runs her own business. In their free time, they love to watch movies or head out to go hiking. Cole enjoys educating himself on firearms as well as shooting them and Emilie loves to spend her time with their husky, Yeti.
Bryant & Danielle Peterson
Bryant, from Burlington, CO and Danielle from Mechanicsville, MD met as students at Rhema Bible Training College in 2010. They graduated in 2012 and Bryant moved back to Burlington in the summer of 2014 to take over the Free Life Church Youth department. Soon after, the two of them got married and Danielle came back with Bryant in February of 2015 to also help with the youth group.
Bryant works as a machinist at Duerst Machine Works and Danielle works full time at the church as Pastors' personal assistant and secretary.
Both Bryant and Danielle love hockey and going to games! Although their favorite team is the Colorado Avalanche, the Washington Capitols will always hold a special place in Danielle's heart.
Michael & Michaela Munguia
Michael grew up in Seminole, Texas. After graduating high school in 2008, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend Rhema Bible College. He graduated in 2010 and moved out to Burlington, Colorado to help Pastors Eric and Kirsten Kilborn at Free Life Church.
Michaela grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After graduating high school in 2011, she attended the University of Colorado Colorado Springs for a teaching degree. Having family out in Burlington, she always considered the small town home away from home. After graduating from college in 2015, she was offered a kindergarten position at Burlington Elementary School.
Michael and Michaela started working at Burlington elementary at the same time. At that time Michael was also working with the Children's ministry at Free Life Church. They started dating in January of 2016, got engaged in January 2019 and were married on June 15, 2019.
Both Michael and Michaela enjoy the small town of Burlington. Today, they both work together with Free Life kids and Michaela continues to teach kindergarten. They enjoy working with the kids at Free Life Church and helping them to build a relationship with God. Michael and Michaela also enjoy being around people, traveling, going for walks, and watching movies together.
Zebulun & Rachel Bell
Zeb grew up in Billings, MT with two older brothers and two younger sisters, both brothers now serve our country as Marines. Always, a hard worker, he was raised helping his parents' hunting decoy business then, later on, working with horses on their ranch as well as building fences around town. Hunting and shooting were big parts of his life growing up with dreams of becoming a Game Warden for Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. But God at the age of seventeen, on a missions trip to Panama, called him to go to Rhema Bible Training College to attend the World Missions School program.
Rachel grew up in New York City and Tampa, FL. With a split family, she has three brothers and two sisters in total and loved living in both places although Queens, NY holds the place in her heart as "home". Life took some crazy dips and turns but God was faithful through it all miraculously saving her life as well as her two small children's lives. She ended up at Rhema Bible Church in 2013 and started attending Rhema Bible Training College in 2014.
The two met at Rhema in 2013 and started dating in their third-year programs in 2016. Six months later, they got engaged on a missions trip to Huyan Cayo, Peru. Zeb graduated from World Missions in 2017 and Rachel graduated from School of Worship in 2017 then School of World Missions in 2018. They got married in September of 2018 then soon moved to Burlington, CO to come alongside the Kilborn's and the vision placed in their hearts.
Rachel oversees the Praise & Worship and sound teams as well as the website, media, and the FLC app. With a lot to do and what's to come, they are excited about everything that is ahead!
